SYNOPSIS
pbs_server [-a active] [-d config_path] [-p port] [-A acctfile] [-L logfile] [-M mom_port] [-R momRPP_port] [-S scheduler_port] [-h hostname] [-t type]DESCRIPTION
The pbs_server daemon is a persistent daemon which normally only runs on the cluster head node. It communicates with the scheduler and each of the compute node mom daemons. The pbs_server daemon has the following primary responsibilities:
- receive and queue jobs from the end users
- receive and aggregate node health and configuration information from each compute host
- report node and job status information to the scheduler
- receive and fulfill job management commands from the scheduler
- receive and respond to user and admin query commands
