Clusters can be divided into different sections. These sections are commonly called partitions. A partition is a semi-permanent division of the cluster and is most often created for certain nodes containing unique hardware. It should be recognized that jobs are not allowed to run in more then one partition. If jobs need the ability to span multiple partitions an infinite reservation should be used instead of a partition.
