Software ArchitectureSoftware StackMoab Cluster Builder provides a rich software stack suitable for any size of cluster. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 SP1A full version of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES) is included and distributed on the Moab Cluster Builder installation DVD. This is the basic Linux operating system underlying the whole software stack and providing all basic required networking services. MPICHMPICH is an implementation of the Message Passing Interface (MPI) that allows inter-process communication over networks. This is the basic element to allow distributed computing. TORQUE Resource ManagerTORQUE is a resource manager that controls job flow on nodes. Moab Cluster SuiteMoab is a scheduler that controls resource managers and job scheduling based on available resources. Moab Cluster BuilderMoab Cluster Builder (MCB) is a visual tool that manages the cluster services, layout, and installation. You can re-use this tool when you decide to modify your cluster's setup. Moab Cluster ManagerMoab Cluster Manager (MCM) is a platform independent visual administration tool that allows several user and administrative actions, eliminating the need to use the command line. Moab Access PortalMoab Access Portal (MAP) is a web-based interface to the cluster for job submission and management via a common (authenticated) HTTP interface; it is available from the headnode as http://<headnode>:8080.
