As someone who has been tracking Torque via my own git svn mirror for 
many years I think it's a great plan.

The fact that you have the entire history of the project on your local 
system is extremely useful and you are no longer reliant on having 
network connectivity.

People do worry, however, about having a centralised service handling 
such a number of projects, especially given their history of being 
hacked. :-)

That said the fact that git is a DVCS means everyone who clones the repo 
to a local system has a mirror in case of an outage. :-)

In summary, it's a great plan.
