[torqueusers] no job control

Hello,
Entering into an interactive job on OS X 10.4.5 results in no job
control in that shell; '-bash: no job control in this shell' gets output
before you get a prompt.
While in an interactive job at a compute node:
apple-02:~ dbertram$ ps 1 $$
PID TT STAT TIME COMMAND
1 ?? S<s 0:21.82 /sbin/launchd
apple-02:~ dbertram$
Notice the ?? under TT.
Still in the interactive job, entering into a new bash does not help:
apple-02:~ dbertram$ /bin/bash -l
bash: no job control in this shell
apple-02:~ dbertram$
Nor does /bin/bash -i(to force an interactive bash on OS X).
I'm not sure if this would work or not, but for troubleshooting purposes
I've included it. In the INSTALL doc, /bin/bash -l in jobs script
submissions is supposed to work for regular job submissions, but doesn't
in my case.
OS: OS X 10.4.5
Torque 2.0.0p8
Any suggestions/ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave
