as a policy, that can be the source of *other* problems. One should usually 
have the FQHN first, and alieses second, in the lines in /etc/hosts, if 
you're not actually using DNS.

If you're using DNS, it's usually safer not to have the hostnames in 
/etc/hosts at all and only use /etc/hosts for things like localhost and 
broadcast addresses.
