[torqueusers] problem with Altix compile

       try to replace os_defines.h with [1].    Just compiled 2.0.0p4
with default gcc 3.2.3-47  without problems once os_defines.h was
replaced.   Also compiled it with gcc on ProPack 4 SP3. No problems.

I'll try Intel C++ 9 later.
