First off I reckon it's a good idea and I hope that
this time my timetable let's me attend! :-)

I'd be really interested in hearing better hardware &
topology detection through using something like the
hwloc library from the Open-MPI (et.al) folks.

I think it's worth noting that both OGS (nee SGE) & Slurm
seem to have integration in development and someone from
PBSPro asked about getting hwloc going on older AIX systems
on the mailing lists.

The current trunk of hwloc (which will be 1.3) has merged
the libpci branch and so detects locality and distance to
IB interfaces, ethernet, graphics cards, disks, etc.  You
can grab a nightly snapshot to test it out.
