[Mauiusers] BACKFILL enabled by dafult?

Hi all,

I'm ding some test and I found a strange behaviour.

I'm sending a job that request max node procs (8), and I give it max
priority, so it''s always on top of queue.

The node itself is running a couple of jobs, so when it finisehs them,
my job starts as it has 8 free slots.

That works great.

the problem comes when I send a low priority job requesting 1 cpu. It
starts immediately, despite it has less priority. So I'm wondering when
my 8 slots jobs is going to run ...


Is backfill enabled by dafult in maui?

if not, why a low priority job starts before a higher one? only
because  it has free resources?
