[Mauiusers] Maui and FC7 not working at all

In case anybody is interested, I recompiled with the older gcc that
comes with FC7 gcc34, and it seems to be running OK.

So there are either latent bugs in Maui that the new compiler brought
up, or the compiler miscompiled the code.
