Hello,
I have 72 free processors and a job with a resource req nodes=16 (16
processors). Maui assigns the job to a node which only has 3 out of 4
processors available at the moment. For this reason, the job does not
start - nor does any other job queued after it:
10/26 20:48:12
MPBSJobModify(357996,Resource_List,Resource,node3:ppn=4+node4:ppn=4+node5:ppn=4+node6:ppn=4)
10/26 20:48:12 ERROR: job '357996' cannot be started: (rc: 15044
errmsg: 'Resource temporarily unavailable REJHOST=node3 MSG=cannot
allocate node 'node3' to job - node not currently available (nps
needed/free: 4/3, joblist: 357820.srvgrid01.offis.uni-oldenburg.de:0)'
hostlist: 'node3:ppn=4+node4:ppn=4+node5:ppn=4+node6:ppn=4')
Why does Maui insist on using the node with not enough processors? Can I
do anything to make it change this decision? Also, where does the above
specification with ppn=4 come from? Certainly not from my job file :-(
Any suggestions?
Regards,
Jan Ploski
