FEBRUARY TRAINING AVAILABLE ONLINE
Cluster Resources' technical team wishes to thank the
participants of February's free training. Turnout was
exceptional, with scheduled classes filled to more than
100 percent of expected levels.
The February training sessions is now online to allow
those who could not attend access to the same training
in video flash format at www.clusterresources.com/techtraining.
Topics available are; Deployment, Diagnostics & Troubleshooting,
Optimization & Uptime, End Users, Political Sharing & Service
Delivery, Reporting & Monitoring, Grid Computing, Utility/Hosted
Computing and TORQUE. A similar private training from Cluster
Resources would cost $210 per hour.
Cluster Resources is planning another training for the
second half of 2006. If you have a specific topic that
you would like our training to cover at that time, please
submit your request at info at clusterresources.com.

CLUSTER RESOURCES' CTO INTERVIEWED ON GRIDTODAY
GRIDtoday editor Derrick Harris interviewed Cluster Resources'
Chief Technology Officer David Jackson. The interview, which
explores the unique abilities of Cluster Resources' Moab
Cluster, Grid, and Utility/Hosting Suites, is featured in
the March 6, 2006 issue of GRIDtoday.
Jackson, an innovator in grid technology, provides a closer
look at how Cluster Resources' technology has empowered
companies to "deliver their skills seamlessly, efficiently
and reliably."
"Many sites are using Moab's Grid tools and technologies as
a natural extension of their clusters and, without even knowing
it, have enabled a grid across their systems," Jackson said. "I
think this is the way it should be. With Moab, there really isn't
a leap....It's just a natural extension of the familiar cluster."

SWEDEN'S NATIONAL SUPERCOMPUTER CENTER NOW USING MOAB
Cluster Resources is pleased to announce the use of Moab
Cluster Suite by the National Supercomputer Center (NSC)
in Sweden. NSC is the largest high performance computing
(HPC) center in Sweden managing more than 14 clusters and
1700 CPU's, eight universities, and the Swedish Meteorological
and Hydrological Institute.
As the premier source of HPC in Sweden, NSC is looking forward
to not only resolving past system administration problems
using Moab, but also alleviating difficult scheduling demands
in support of research on various topics such as weather
forecasting and quantum chemistry.
To find out more about NSC and other Cluster Resources
customers go to www.clusterresources.com/customers.

DID YOU KNOW: QUALITY OF SERVICE (QoS) FACILITIES
Organizations with users of differing need levels often
run into problems efficiently scheduling jobs to
accommodate those needs. Moab's QoS facility allows a
site to give special treatment to various classes of
jobs, users, groups, etc. Each QoS object can be thought
of as a container of special privileges ranging from
fairness policy exemptions, to special job prioritization,
to special functionality access. Each QoS object also
has an extensive access list of users, groups and accounts
that can access these privileges.
Sites can configure various QoS's each with its own set
of priorities, policy exemptions and special resource
access settings. A given job will have a default QoS and
may have access to several additional QoS's. When the job
is submitted, the submitter may request a specific QoS or
just allow the default QoS to be used. Once a job is
submitted, a user may adjust the QoS of his jobs at any time
using the "setqos" command. The "setqos" command will only
allow the user to modify the QoS of his jobs and only change
the QoS to a QoS that this user has access to. Moab
administrators may change the QoS of any job to any value.
To learn more about QoS, go to www.clusterresources.com/qos.
