[gold-users] Ident authentication failed for user "gold"

I know this is not really a gold issue, but I'm pretty sure you'll be able
to help me here. I'm not a Pg user at all so don't really know how to fix
this:

[gold at rman ~]$ /usr/local/gold/sbin/goldd
Starting Gold Pid (23564)
[gold at rman ~]$ DBI connect('dbname=gold;host=rman','gold',...) failed:
FATAL:  Ident authentication failed for user "gold" at
/usr/local/gold/lib/Gold/Database.pm line 165

Here is the only line in my pg_hba.conf:

host    all     all     10.0.254.1 255.255.255.255      trust

I'd like to secure it somewhat if possible.
