Cluster Resources, Inc.® is a leading provider of workload and resource management software and services for cluster, grid and utility-based computing environments. Cluster Resources is recognized as a leader in innovation and software that provides high return on investment through its popular products, including the Maui Cluster Scheduler™ and the next generation Moab® line of products. With more than 1,500 clients worldwide and more than a decade of industry experience, Cluster Resources delivers the services and software products that enable organizations to understand, control and fully optimize their compute resources.

In 2001, Cluster Resources, Inc. was developed under the leadership of the Supercluster Development Group. They combined the experience of providing cutting-edge high performance computing software since the early 1990's with the experience of servicing hundreds of customer sites to create the professional services and software development organization known as Cluster Resources, Inc.

Cluster Resources' product line has been recognized as "the scheduler of choice" by the President's Information Technology Advisory Committee to manage the next generation of the United States' high performance supercomputers. Cluster Resources also provides the workload management and scheduling software that runs the world's largest grid (Teragrid), the world's largest data center (CERN), and manages many of the largest clusters in the world.

History:

In 1995, the founder of Cluster Resources, Inc. envisioned a system in which multiple computers could act intelligently, and the software would empower organizations to fully understand, control and optimize their compute resources. And thus the Maui Scheduler and subsequently the Moab family of products were created.

Maui Scheduler began as a basic scheduler with the abilities to manage when jobs were processed, which jobs should be given the higher priority, and rules on how to share resources fairly. This open source solution has become the foundation for more than a thousand client sites worldwide.

The Moab family of products make up the next generation workload policy engine and scheduler for clusters, enterprise grids, and utility-based computing systems. Moab's architecture, as opposed to its predecessor Maui Scheduler, allows dynamic management of traditional compute resources, as well as software licenses, file spaces and network bandwidth. New communication interfaces enable rapid integration with in-house and third party applications, such as provisioning managers, billing systems, identity managers and databases. Moab also incorporates an event policy engine and multi-resource manager support, which when combined with the above mentioned capabilities and associated third party products helps provide true service level agreement enforcement, adaptive resource provisioning, and identity-based usage tracking and reporting.

Hundreds of leading government, commercial and academic/research laboratories throughout the world rely on Cluster Resources, Inc. for software, development, support and consulting services to help obtain optimal use of their compute resources. Savings from such products and services often improve performance of clusters by 20 to 30 percent, with some organizations more than doubling the usage of their compute resources.

Cluster Resources' Moab products operate on Linux, Unix, Mac OS X and Windows* environments.

Cluster Resources is dedicated to providing the most flexible and cost effective solutions to aid its customers in realizing the full potential of their compute resource investments.
